Interactive 3D OrganViewer for Medical Patient Education.

Initial Situation
In urological practice, diagnoses and treatment options frequently require detailed explanation. Classic information sheets or schematic drawings are often insufficient to represent procedures comprehensibly. However, patients must make decisions on the basis of this information. Lack of understanding can create uncertainty and make doctor-patient communication more difficult. A digital solution for the interactive, medically correct visualisation of conditions and therapies was required – intuitively operable in everyday practice.

Objective
The aim was to develop a high-performance, platform-independent 3D application for visual support in consultations. The solution should:
- represent urological conditions realistically
- explain therapeutic measures through animation, step by step
- be intuitively operable by doctors
- be available in multiple languages
- be usable on tablet, desktop and in external consultation appointments The focus was a professional medical 3D app that is both technically accurate and visually compelling.

Implementation
In workshops with the treating physicians, relevant conditions and typical treatment procedures were defined. On this basis, Convario modelled anatomically accurate 3D models of organs, instruments and therapeutic interventions. The technical implementation was carried out using the Unity game engine and C#. This enabled a high-performance, interactive application to be developed that runs smoothly even on standard devices. The architecture clearly separates:
- User interface (UI)
- Interaction logic
- 3D viewer and animation control Treatment steps can be selectively shown and hidden, rotated, zoomed or isolated. This allows the doctor to respond individually to the patient's questions.

Result and Strategic Positioning
With the Uroviva OrganViewer, the practice now has an innovative tool for patient-centred education. Medical matters are visually explained, procedures are described comprehensibly and treatment options are presented transparently. The application is multilingual, has smooth animations and is scalable. New conditions or treatment methods can be modularly added. The project demonstrates how interactive 3D visualisation can sustainably improve communication in healthcare.
Convario develops custom 3D applications and interactive visualisation solutions for medicine, industry and products that require explanation. The focus lies on:
- Development of medical 3D software
- Unity-based app development
- Interactive anatomy visualisation
- Patient-centred user experience
- Scalable architecture for extensions When complex content must be conveyed visually, a bespoke 3D application creates a clear added value over static media.
