Creating a reliable quote previously required in-depth technical expertise as well as extensive internal coordination. The products are characterised by enormous variant diversity. Numerous dependencies between modules, performance parameters and customer-specific requirements affect technical feasibility and the pricing structure. Miscalculations or inconsistent configurations can cause considerable economic risks in plant construction. The aim was therefore a digital solution that makes complexity manageable while simultaneously increasing sales speed.

In intensive workshops with VEMAG's specialist departments, product structures, module dependencies and calculation rules were recorded in detail. On this basis, Convario developed a comprehensive rule set with over 400 defined conditions for controlling the configuration. The system configurator guides the user through the planning step by step. Technically impermissible combinations are automatically excluded and price changes are immediately calculated. The application was designed to run fully offline on client devices. When an internet connection is available, automatic synchronisation with the central system takes place. In addition to configuration, the system generates structured quote documents including technical descriptions and images – directly from the selected system configuration.

With Easy Offer 2, VEMAG now has a powerful system configurator that converts technical complexity into structured processes. Sales staff can configure systems without in-depth specialist knowledge and immediately receive reliable calculations. Real-time plausibility checking reduces incorrect quotes, shortens internal coordination and lowers process costs. Due to the offline capability, the configurator can be used worldwide in the field. The project demonstrates how individually developed CPQ systems in mechanical engineering can function as strategic sales instruments.
